The last first day of school for yours truly today.  It feels surprisingly good to be back at school.  I am really excited for this semesters projects and to move on to bigger and better things.  Got a big trip planned post graduation this summer which will be the primary subject of many of the following posts.

Gonna ride a variation of the Great Divide Route put together by the Adventure Cycling Association this summer.  I am planning to ride the route for the most part but I wanna take some detours and ride the Continental Divide Trail in non-wilderness areas to up the singletrack riding and add a little more adventure to the trip.  Also looking at detours through Yellowstone and Glacier as well.

Gonna do the trip solo to really make it an experience to remember and test myself mentally.  I really want to see what I am made of and what better way than to ride 2700 miles and over 200,000 vertical following the Continental Divide through some of the most remote parts of the country alone.  Gonna try to meet up with friends and family as I come through Colorado for a little sanity and friendship.

Gotta lot of planning to do between now and then, and in combination with my school load, I am going to have no problem staying busy this semester.  Gotta make a real effort to keep things balanced and make time for the finer things in life.
